Astrotech at Sea Launch

Astrotech provides payload processing and facilities management support for the sea launch program owned by an international consortium of four companies: Boeing (United States), Energia (Russia), Aker Kværner (Norway) and SDO Yuzhnoye/PO Yuzhmash (Ukraine). The spacecraft launch service uses a mobile sea platform, providing the advantage of a near-equatorial launch location in the Pacific Ocean, launching commercial payloads on specialized Zenit 3SL rockets. The home port facilities are in Long Beach, California, and Sea Launch Company, LLC is under a long-term contract with Astrotech.
